Hello from our Sustainability Leaders

On Tuesday 5th December, our Sustainability Leaders for 2024 attended their first iSea iCare excursion in Sorrento. The newly appointed marine ambassadors boarded the Moonraker and explored the ocean and went on the lookout for dolphins. Unfortunately the dolphins were hiding but our new leaders enjoyed the day and swam with the seals. Alice, Ben, Isabelle and Ty are looking forward to more fun experiences next year and educating our younger students about looking after our world. Thank you to Mrs O’Meara and Mrs Arthur for attending.

Hi I am Ty and  I am a part of the 2024  Sustainability Leaders. We had a great time and a lot of fun. We saw seahorses, baby stingray and seals. I went snorkeling in cold water with Ben, Alice and Isabelle. We had a snorkel flipper and a wetsuit. We were one of the schools that were a part of the excursion. We went to Sorrento for the boat ride and we had a Milo after the first  swim and I was so cold.

Hi, my name is Ben. I am on the 2024 ‘iSea  iCare’ leadership team and I recently went to Sorrento to participate in snorkeling. It was so much fun! I saw an amazing horizon and beautiful water. When I went into the water it was 21 degrees! That seems like a nice sunny day but it is freezing water! We saw heaps of sea life. I thought it was an amazing experience and so cool learning about aquatic life.

Hi, I’m Alice and I’m a 2024 Sustainability Leader. On Tuesday, we went up to Sorrento to swim with dolphins. We went out on a boat around midday, and we all wore thick wetsuits, flippers and snorkels. Even though it was a really warm day, we were all very grateful for our gear as the water was freezing and we all got a cold shock. Unfortunately, there were no dolphins around, but there were still plenty of cool creatures to see. We managed to spot a sting ray, a sea dragon, seals and lots of fish. When we got back onto the boat, we all got dry and had hot chocolates to warm up. It was really fun.Hi, I'm Isabelle and on Tuesday the 5th of December the four Sustainability leaders of 2024, Alice, Ty, Ben and I went on our first excursion as Sustainability Leaders in Sorrento. We got on a boat called the Moonraker, which took us out where we snorkeled for two hours. When we first jumped into the water it was very refreshing! Soon after swimming around for a couple of minutes we saw a Stingray and Leafy Sea Dragon. We also saw seals and got to swim with them. It was a very fun and exciting day and I am very lucky to get to go on it!

Grade 6 Big Day Out!

Our Grade Six students as another celebration to mark the end of Primary School went to Gumbuya World where they had a fun filled day of exploring the wildlife park which houses a variety of Australian animals. The students had opportunities to enjoy a variety of rides and visit the water park which includes a wave pool, lazy river and water slides
