Assistant Principal Reports

Year 12 ATAR Results

Recently our Year 12 students received their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

On the day that students received their results, Monday 11 December, they were invited to a morning tea where they could discuss their outcomes with their teachers and receive careers support with their Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) applications.

It is important to remember that students can change their preferences on the VTAC website once they have received their results, should they choose to do so.  This will enable students to reorder the universities of their choice according to their ranking.

Celebration of achievement

We have celebrated many of our students’ achievements associated with school throughout this year and will did so again at the Presentation evening on Monday 11 December at Orion Night.

We are fortunate to have so many high achievers and many who have demonstrated outstanding growth.  As mentioned In Mrs Major's report on Wednesday 6  December, Chanel 9 reporters chose to come to see the excellent learning happening within our maths classrooms and were highly impressed by our Year 9 students as learners, and as a group of young people.

As well as achieving within curricular and co-curricular activities, we also have many students excelling in activities that challenge them and support the community beyond the school day.

Three of our students in Years 9 & Year 10, have been working very hard in the Army Cadets during evenings, weekends, and school holidays, and all three have received significant promotions in their rank during this semester.

Congratulations to Jack Harper for being selected in the Australian Army Cadets Leadership Program as a Platoon Commander at the age of 14.  Jack is currently spending a week at Puckapunyal training for his new role and received the Cadet Sergeant Major's Award for outstanding drill, dress and bearing, and discipline.

Not to be outdone, Jacks older sister, Anna Harper was promoted to Company Commander of her Unit, which means that she oversees the entire group of platoons.

Another high achiever is James Mathews who was promoted to Lance Corporal at the commencement of this semester, after having undertaken a series of drills at training camp.

Congratulations on your success James, Anna, and Jack.

I would like to wish all of our students and their families a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
