Northern Schools Prime Steer Show 2023 - November 22nd and 23rd

November 22nd and 23rd saw 23 students and 7 head of cattle head to a wet Armidale for northern schools 2023. Junior judging started the program with Grace Tarrant placing 5th and Imogen Biddle placing 1st in the Yearr 7/8 division. Imogen went on to be named reserve champion junior judge.

It was then onto the cattle judging. In the lightweight no kill section Trinket placed first. In the middleweight no kill section Tuppence placed 3rd and in the heavyweight kill section Brandy placed 5th. Brandy was purchased from Casey and Nigel Wieck. Tuppence and Trinket were school bred. 

 

Other steers shown were 3 speckle parks- Shiraz, Prosecco, and JD- 2 purchased from and 1 donated by Bev and John Winter and Nuggs a Charbray X Gelbvieh bred by Matt and Kylie Falconer and purchased from the potential show steer sale.

The next day saw Paraders- Lily Cooke and Suzie Lockwood made it to the final of the yr 9/10 division while Aden McBain, Jazzy Klingner, Kirsty McIndoe, Lloyd Newbury, and Isla McIndoe made the Yr 7/8 final with Isla and Lloyd taking out 1st and 2nd respectively and Aden placing 5th. A great couple of days with great students.
