End of Year - Student Library Loans
All student loans from our library must now be returned. Please check at home and help your children locate any overdue books. Thank you for supporting our end of year process for our library and helping us prepare for the new school year.
Celebrating our Library Monitors
This week we celebrated our team of 60 amazing library monitors with a special Library Monitor party to say thank you for their dedication and community spirit.
Since the start of term 4, Ironside students have borrowed an incredible 8,161 books, a number that doesn’t include any teacher borrowing. That’s a LOT of resources circulating in our Ironside community! And what goes out on loan must come back. How does this happen so smoothly? Thanks to our incredible team of student volunteers.
What do our library monitors do?
- Help shelve returned books so they’re ready for the next reader
- Help others find resources and answer questions
- Keep the library tidy and welcoming for everyone
- Assist with borrowing and returning books at the circulation desk
- Support library events, activities and displays to make reading fun
Brisbane City Council - Summer Reading Challenge
Our friends at Toowong Library have reached out to share their Summer Reading Challenge has launched!
Readers of all ages and interests are invited to join our free Summer Reading program. Council's 33 libraries, Mobile Library and Pop-Up Library will host the annual program from Monday 1 December 2025 to Saturday 31 January 2026.
The program combines reading and library activities to encourage you to experience the joy of reading over summer.
Spend your days reading in blissful solitude, or discover a love of reading together with your friends and family.
Registrations for the Summer Reading program are now open.
UQ Bookmark Competition
Our friends at UQ have got in touch about their Bookmark Competition. Did you know Ironside students have had several winning entries? Could you be next?
The competition design entry form is attached, which includes instructions on how to submit you entry by Friday 12 December 2025. (Entries are submitted directly to UQ).
