Year 6 Graduation: A Night to Remember

On Friday evening, we celebrated one of the most significant milestones in the Junior School calendar—the Year 6 Graduation Dinner. This event marks an important transition as students prepare to embark on their Senior School journey. It is a time to reflect on achievements, growth, and the formative years that have shaped their learning and character.

Families gathered for photographs before enjoying a delicious dinner and dancing the night away. Our Year 6 leaders and teachers delivered fabulous speeches, inspiring confidence and pride in every student. The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration, thanks to the dedicated parents who transformed the venue into a stunning space. Their collaboration with Junior School staff ensured the evening was truly memorable.

Each student is presented with a wyvern mascot as a memento of their time in the Junior School. The wyvern is a mythical creature who sat atop the crest of one of our founding schools, Wolaroi College, over 100 years ago. Today, you’ll still see the wyvern on the crests for Wolaroi Boarding House and Trathen Boarding House. The wyvern represents our School’s values—courage, commitment, inclusivity, resilience, and respect—and connects students to our rich history. It serves as a powerful reminder of the qualities that will guide them into the next chapter of their education.

This celebration was more than a dinner; it was a moment of community and accomplishment, honouring the journey so far and looking forward to the exciting road ahead.

Nativity Play Celebrates the Story of Christmas

The Junior School will soon gather for one of the most cherished traditions of the year, the Nativity Play. This event will bring the story of Christmas to life through music, drama, and heartfelt performances by our youngest students. It promises to be a highlight of the festive season, reminding us of the joy and meaning behind this special time of year.

This year’s production, of the Nativity is called, ‘Wind in the Olive Trees’ and is particularly noteworthy as it will mark Mrs. Marlo Robson’s fourth Nativity play written for Kinross Wolaroi School, a remarkable achievement of creativity and dedication. Her ability to craft a fresh, engaging narrative each year ensures the play remains a treasured experience for students, families, and staff alike.

From beautifully staged scenes to enthusiastic singing and acting, the performance will capture the spirit of community and celebration that defines our Junior School. It will be a magical way to begin the Christmas season.
