Catholic Identity

🌟 Advent Begins This Weekend! 🌟
This weekend marks the beginning of Advent, a sacred season in our Catholic faith. Advent invites us into a time of watchful waiting, prayerful preparation, and opening our hearts to the coming of Christ.Â
Â
As a school, we will be helping students understand that Advent is both a time of hope and a call to deepen our relationship with God. Throughout the next two weeks, students will be learning about key Catholic symbols of Advent, including:
Â
- The Advent Wreath, with its four candles representing the virtues of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love, guiding us toward the light of Christ.
Â
- The Advent Calendar, encouraging families to pause each day for prayer, reflection, or an act of Christian service.
We warmly encourage families to pray, reflect and complete these acts of kindness together at home.
Â
📸 If your family completes any of these Advent moments, you are welcome to send photos of these acts of service or prayer, and we will share them in future newsletters as a celebration of our faith in action.
Week 10 Advent Liturgies
As we journey through the season, each year level will gather for a short Advent Liturgy, focusing on the candle for that week and its spiritual meaning. These liturgies are a beautiful opportunity to pray together as a Catholic community.
Â
Families are warmly invited to join us:
- Year 1: Monday 8th December, 2:30–3:00pm
- Year 2: Tuesday 9th December, 9:00–9:30am
- Years 3 & 4: Wednesday 10th December, 9:00–9:30am
- Years 5 & 6: Thursday 11th December, 9:00–9:30am
- Prep Nativity: Friday 12th December, 9:00–9:30am
Â
As we begin this holy season, may our school community be filled with the hope, peace, joy and love of Christ.
