Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

It was great to see so many people from our community attend the Book week parade and Book fair. Our children and young people certainly had a great time dressing up and enjoying the pleasure that a good book can bring.

The year 6 excursion to Canberra was a huge success and next years trip has already been locked in. Our elective Commerce and Ag students also enjoyed the excursion to Ag Quip.

Community involvement in the life of a student is essential for building a culture in which everyone has a voice. The P&F does a fantastic job in promoting the school and delivering successful outcomes.

They are holding a social night on Friday 13th September at Social Co House.

They are not seeking to 'give you a job' but rather engage in a social conversation as members of the St Philomena's community.

Tickets for the event can be purchased via the Compass App.

The Spring Fair will be upon us very soon. All students will receive raffle tickets to sell and there will be a prize for the student who can sell the most.

All monies raised at P&F functions goes back into the school.

We understand that we do need to allocate funds to a beautification of the school layout, as well as supply more outdoor facilities for our students.

Our fundamental importance in any school is for children and young people to feel a connection to school.  We also want them to have the best possible start to the day which is why we have introduced a breakfast club. The club operates Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings at this point but we anticipate that this will further develop. Congratulations to the staff and students involved in arranging this activity.

Congratulations to Moree Rugby Union & Moree Rugby League Clubs for making it to the Grand Finals. As a former player and coach there is nothing like Grand Final Day and we wish you all the best on the big day.

Kind Regards

Simon Fleming
