BHS Chess Tournament

On 1st August, we took a team of 18 students to a qualifying tournament for the state final.

Ballarat High finished in 1st place ahead of Australian International Academy, Brunswick Secondary College & Coburg High School.

From 73 competitors our students finished as follows after 7 games: 

1st Lucas Ware (7 points) Star of the tournament trophy

2nd Sam Song (6) Y9 -10 Gold

3rd Jace Murray (6) Y11 - 12 Gold

5th Riley James (5.5) Y9-10 Silver

9th Azam Mohammed (5) Y11-12 Bronze
