Father's Day Afternoon Tea
Fathers’ Day was celebrated at Belmore School with a special afternoon tea for students and their fathers on Friday afternoon at 1.30pm. The fathers were then invited to attend our interactive music club or classrooms with their children. It was wonderful that a number of our dads and special friends could come along to celebrate their special day with their children here at Belmore.
Book Week - Reading is Magic
Book Week was enjoyed by us all as we celebrated the very best in children's literature. As a whole school we enjoyed reading the shortlisted Picture Books of the Year along with the Early Childhood Books of the Year in our classrooms and together during our lunch breaks. Our book week dress up day was a happy event for us all to experience, with students and staff enjoying the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character. The students led both our parade and Pyjama disco on the Friday afternoon, which was wonderful to see.
Belmore Olympics and Sports Day
We had so much fun working together across the school for our first ever whole school sports day. From working together in our house groups, cheering each other on and participating in a number of events across the day. Some of the events included: bowling, basketball, walking, running, bike riding, house craft activities and my personal favourite our house relay. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for participating and having a go at something new!
Belmore Rocks and New playground afternoon tea
Such a wonderful event! I can't even begin to describe how amazing our school production 'Belmore rocks' was. From the brainstorming and creative idea generation in the early days with Troy and our student leaders, to the fantastic videos of the students exploring their playground, learning spaces and creative pursuits and my personal highlight - To see the student voice and personality shine through in each and every performance! I don't think I have ever seen that many people and felt that kind of buzz in the school hall before. A big thank you to Troy for leading this very special event, inspiring our students to share their ideas in such a creative way and our staff for stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing their inner actors and actresses!
We followed our production with a lovely, relaxed afternoon tea for students, parents and families in our lovely new playground. Alot of fun was had and it was great to see everyone enjoy this wonderful new space.
