Year 6 Camp

Melina S and Anna P (6AB)

Our Year 6 students embarked on their final primary school camp in the countryside last week. Billabong Ranch, just outside Echuca, provided a taste of country life, with fresh air and clear blue sunny skies. The nights and mornings were freezing cold but students embraced the cold and put on a brave face to do their morning activities and the continuous campfire kept everyone warm and cosy at night.

Students engaged in a wide range of activities including horse riding, adventure and initiative activities, designed to develop self-confidence, trust, problem solving and teamwork skills.

Highlights included:

  • A fire twirling performance
  • Jumping from the hay bales
  • Toasting marshmallows
  • Bungee trampolining
  • Horse riding, saddling and grooming.

The Year 6's really enjoyed camp, here are their thoughts:

“It was a fun and different experience” - Oliver P.

“My favourite thing about the camp was the campfire that ran all day - it was a great place to hang out and enjoy the countryside.” - Vivian C.

“I loved horse riding, it was so fun to go around the camp on horseback.” - Harry G.
