2nd August 2024
Dear Families,
3 Way Conferences
Thank you to all the families who attended the 3-Way Conferences. Our students were thrilled to share their learning progress from the first half of 2024 with their families. For those who were unable to attend on Monday, July 22nd, all teachers have made efforts to reach out. If you missed the conference, please contact your child’s class teacher to schedule a new meeting. It is essential that every student has the chance to discuss their learning journey with their family. I will be following up with families who have not yet been in touch with their classroom teacher.
Dance program update
The concentration and joy displayed by the students during the dance sessions has me very excited about the showcase later in this term.
Collecting children early from school
To ensure a smooth pick-up process, please inform us in the morning if you need to collect your child during the school day. This will allow us to have them ready and waiting at the office for you. We will no longer use the PA system to call children for early pick-up during play times unless it is an emergency. Since children are engaged in play and our classrooms are locked, it can be difficult for them to hear announcements, and bags cannot be retrieved during these periods. Play times are 12:10 pm to 1:00 pm and 1:50 pm to 2:30 pm.
Parent and Carer Opinion Survey
Each year, all government schools take part in the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey conducted by the Department of Education. This survey aims to provide schools with valuable insights into families’ views on school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. While participation is optional, we highly encourage and appreciate your involvement.
The feedback gathered will help us identify areas for improvement, professional development needs, and to refine our school planning and strategies. The survey will be available online from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 30, 2024.
Each household has received a unique PIN via email to access the survey. It takes only 20 minutes to complete and can be done at your convenience on a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Your feedback is important to us, and we invite all families to participate.
Rest assured, the school will not be able to identify which families completed the survey, as the data we receive is de-identified. Please check Compass for login details and verify the email address you provided to the school for your household PIN.
Supported School Visitors
On Thursday 1st August, we hosted several Supported School Principals who came for a meeting and to tour our newly renovated classroom spaces. They were very impressed by the calm and engaged behaviour of our students and noted our learners' welcoming nature throughout the school.
New Newsletter Format
We hope you are enjoying the online newsletter format and it’s versality to be read on any of your mobile devices. Please let us know what you think of the new format either when you see leadership in the yard or by sending us an email.
Enrolments
We are currently accepting enrolments for 2025 in all year levels. If you have an older sibling at KPS, please don’t forget to enrol your Prep child for 2025.
Keep on learning
