Prep exploring new Unit of Inquiry: How the World Works
This term, Prep students have started the Unit of Inquiry 'How the World Works'. The central idea of this unit is for students to explore how materials have properties that influence how they move. They will investigate three lines of inquiry, which are properties of materials, how objects move and factors that influence movement of objects.
The students actively engaged in both hands-on activities and group discussions, focussing on definitions of objects, materials and properties. They loved searching for objects made of different materials (wood, plastic, metal, transparent and opaque) in the classroom and sharing about them.
Prep students also did some craft around the unit. They did a winter collage with cardboard and paper.
It has been wonderful seeing how the students share their ideas and apply that in their learning experiences through art and craft.
