Anzac Day Service and Whole School Events

Anzac Day Commemorative Service

On Wednesday the 24th of April, our grade 6 students proudly led Mackellar's Anzac Day Commemorative Service.  The service was dedicated to the memory of Australians who have served and died in war.   All grades across the school presented a wreath (in the photograph above) during the service, as well as a poppy they made.

We wish to thank Carolyn West for speaking to our community.  Carolyn served 12 years in the Royal Australian Navy in communications.  We are also grateful for the attendance of Mr. Ross Wiltshire, former serviceman from the Royal Australian Airforce, and

Mr. Harrison Merrifield, who played the bugle during the service.

On Anzac Day, Mrs Wood, our grade six leaders and members of our school community attended the Dawn Service at Caroline Springs Lake.

Here are some photographs from our school service and the Dawn Service.

Athletics Carnival - Wear House Colours

We are very excited about our Athletics Day Carnival being held at Mackellar Primary School this year and we are hoping that many parents and carers may join us on the day.

Students usually wear their House colours on the day which adds to the fun and team spirit of the whole school event.

Date:  Wednesday 8th May

Time:  9.00am to 1.30pm

Location:  School oval

Last Thursday House teams gathered to generate team spirit and make a larger banner for their team and learn some fun chants to prepare for the event.

Thank you to our House Captains for leading the "Pre-Atheltics Day" event:

Red House Captain - Delio
