Introducing our Social Justice Team
We are the Social Justice Student Leadership Team.
We help to bring about social justice in our school community, and the world by helping to raise money for Vinnies, Caritas Australia, and Catholic Missions. We will also raise awareness in our community about social justice issues, and the Catholic Social Teaching principles. To begin with, we will be working to support the Vinnies Winter appeal and raise our community's awareness of homelessness.

Weekly Gospel - 7th Sunday of Easter
Gospel Reading - John 15: 9-7
Jesus said to his disciples:
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another."
Reflection
Love.
Love is what Christianity is all about. From the beginning of creation, through to the current day, it all comes back to love.
God created us, his people out of sheer goodness and love, he created us for love.
God sent us his only Son Jesus, so we can come to know and love God through knowing Jesus. Jesus, in this week's Gospel, calls us to emulate his love in the way we love others. What a simple request, yet something we commonly fall short of. The kind of love we are called to is a radical love, a love that does not waver in the face of challenge and uncertainty, a love that challenges the notion of 'other', a love that calls for sacrifice and forgiveness. This week, consider the ways we respond to God's call to love one another as Jesus loves us.
The Parish Sacramental Program for Confirmation and Eucharist is commencing soon. Please see the Parish News section for details.
