Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

The past two weeks have allowed us to reflect on our school, community, and the wider system of Catholic Education.  We have celebrated through prayer, information sharing, learning challenges, and displays of gratitude.  The past two weeks have also shown the depth of expertise in our school community.  From Catholic Identity to Learning Diversity to Learning and Teaching and Assessment and Report, we have the knowledge and expertise to build the capacity of those around us and to hold us accountable to high expectations of achievement for all.

As the leader of our school, I am blessed to have so many capable and passionate people around me whom I can confidently delegate to, and trust that the job will be done well. Thank you to everyone who makes St Therese's School, Parsh, and Catholic Education as a whole, such a great place to be.

Online Behaviour

On Monday evening, we invited parents and carers to a webinar presented by Safe on Social Education and Consulting on staying safe on social media. This included tips on what to do when things go wrong and creating healthy technology boundaries.

For those who missed our online Safe on Social session for parents and carers, please take the time to watch the VIDEO RECORDING of our session. (click the link)

After participating in both the student and parent sessions, I cannot say strongly enough that Primary-age children are not emotionally, socially, or cognitively mature enough to be on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and the like. Please don't fall into the trap of 'everyone' has it.  This is not the case.

Please find links below for the following information sheets that will help you and your families continue this important conversation.

Grow in the Likeness of God Award.

Each fortnight, I will award a member (or three) from our community this award based on our theme for 2024:   Grow in the Likeness of God.

This week's recipient is Nate.

Nate is an example of outstanding leadership.  His willingness to take on extra responsibility, be a role model to others, and be inclusive of all is to be commended.

Thank you for all you do, Nate.
