French Poetry Finalists
On the 19th of May, several Toorak Primary School students from Years 3 to 6 took part in the French Poetry Competition. This year, over 5,500 students from 90 schools recited a French poem from memory in front of judges.
Last Friday, we were thrilled to learn that some of our TPS students have been selected as finalists!
Our finalists are:
- Jasmine, Sarah, and Juliet from Year 3
- Hugo E and Luca from Year 4
- Penelope from Year 5
Please give them a round of applause!
Bravo! We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and achievement. The finals will take place this Sunday, with students presenting their poem from home via Zoom.
We wish them all bonne chance – good luck – and know they’ll shine!
Southport District Winter Play-Offs
On the 30th of May, our hockey, soccer and netball teams represented Toorak Primary School at the Southport District Winter Playoffs. All students showed dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the day. The soccer and hockey teams came third overall in their competitions. Congratulations to Penelope (netball), Jasper (hockey), Lenny (soccer), and Taddeo (soccer) for being awarded the most valuable player award for their team.
The Fathering Project
What a wonderful evening our Dads and children had at our Fathering Project, Banger's and Bingo evening. The evening began with a sausage on the barbie, followed by games of Bingo in the hall. A big thank you to Phil, Russell, Stewart, Johann, Joanna, Lian, Sarah, Sara, and everyone who pitched in to organise this wonderful event! Also, a big thank you to our sponsors, Woolworths and Peter Bouchier, for donating the bread, sausages, and sauce. There was a massive turnout for the event, with over 190 dads and children in attendance.
