Acting Principal's Message

Ms Sharon Wildermuth
Ms Sharon Wildermuth

Dear Parent’s and Carers,

Next week I look forward to celebrating, with you all, our wellbeing programs with an open morning. On Monday morning we invite you all to attend, with a whole school presentation, in the hall from 9am, followed by classroom visits. This is an opportunity to experience firsthand the wonderful wellbeing work that is being undertaken by our students and staff, led by our learning specialist Ms. Renee Kociski and Assistant Principal Mrs. Julie Hall.

I'm really looking forward to watching our students challenge themselves and showcase their talents during our upcoming Soiree on Wednesday, 25th June in the hall. Events like this are a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence, develop their performance skills, and grow in ways that will benefit them well into the future.

Every little bit helps- Parent Contributions

Thank you to all those families who have already made parent financial contributions in 2025, currently we have received around 40% of our expected parent contributions. These payments allow our school to offer the high-quality educational programs that we have at TPS.

The funds parents provide to our School add to our ability to purchase much needed resources as the Department of Education funds alone, are not enough to support the full costs of running the school as well as providing excellent educational opportunities for all students.

To allow our school to continue to provide the same high level of programs, facilities and equipment, we ask you to consider both the Curriculum and Other contributions. Without the contribution of funds, there will be limited opportunities for new or replacement of equipment & classroom furniture, and existing resources will need to be stretched even further.

We also welcome your additional voluntary contributions to support specific purposes, such as the building fund and library funds.

2025 Parent Contributions

There are many things your parent contribution pays for. This includes:

  • Classroom and curriculum supplies including pens, pencils and books.
  • Literacy, Maths and Science Materials
  • New furniture in the library (we are revamping the library with new furniture next term)
  • Educational research projects
  • Sports equipment
  • Digital learning including apps, device, iPad etc.
  • French supplies
  • New furniture (we have recently purchased 4 sets of new classroom tables) but we want to do more.
  • Performing Arts Supplies such as musical instruments
  • Art supplies including coloured paper, paint, pastels, clay and glue.

If you have not already paid school contributions, please look on Compass under course Contributions/Payments to do so. We appreciate your efforts and thank you for your much needed support.

An investment in education is an investment in your child’s future.

Why Everyday Counts and it's not OK to be Late

A reminder that every day and minute counts at TPS. This also applies to being late to school. It is crucial that children and students develop habits of regular attendance at an early age.

When students arrive late to school their learning can be affected as they miss organisation time, for getting their belongings from their tubs and out onto their tables, hearing what is happening, and the learning intentions for the day.

Parents are reminded that all students arriving late to school must be signed in at the school office by a parent or guardian. The late passes are then to be given to the classroom teacher.

If you are having trouble in getting your child to school on time, please discuss the matter with your child’s teacher or Sara Harris our Student Wellbeing and Welfare officer.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

  • year of schooling
  • category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
  • level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.

This information assists schools to:

  • formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools.
  • consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools.
  • develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy).

Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au).

If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the school and speak with Mrs. Julie Hall – Wellbeing and Inclusion.

As my time at TPS concludes

As I finish my time as Acting Principal at our school, I reflect with gratitude on what has been an incredible journey over the past six years. It has truly been an honour to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community. I will deeply miss the many connections I’ve made with students, staff, and families. One of the greatest joys has been working alongside students, supporting them in their learning, and encouraging them to be the very best they can be. I’ve been fortunate to take part in many opportunities that have helped shape and strengthen our school into the thriving place it is today. It has been a privilege to serve in this role and to contribute to the ongoing development of our wonderful school.

The process to appoint the next TPS principal continues, and the school will be notified of the outcome before the end of the term.

Kind regards

Sharon Wildermuth
