Years 2 & 3

Another busy couple of weeks in our room! The majority of our time together has been spent doing assessments. This has provoked some terrific conversations about managing our emotions during challenging moments and practising positive self talk. We have also reflected on effort and stress, and the balance between striving for our best and understanding that mistakes are okay.

Students also devoted much effort and energy to practising and refining their performance for the Eisteddfods. Well done to everyone for a fantastic effort at the Music Eisteddfod last week and good luck to the students participating in the Speech and Drama Eisteddfod on Monday.

During other times in Maths we have continued to work on addition and begun moving towards consolidating and extending skills with other operations. In English students have begun planning for the narrative they will write. So far, 'abandoned' has been a popular theme, with settings such as 'abandoned factory', 'abandoned farm', 'abandoned military base', 'abandoned high school', and 'abandoned home' looming large!
