Ochre - English and Maths
Our students have continued to work well within their maths and English sessions. Our routines and habits continue to evolve and improve, as does their time on task. Being an explicit instruction curriculum using slideshows, our students need to remain engaged for long periods of time and we are happy to see this time getting longer and longer each week. There are also clear improvements in vocabulary and understanding in maths and vocabulary and comprehension of text within English continues to improve also.
Testing - PAT/ Dibels
We are now underway with our Term 2 Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) testing. Each of our year levels are undertaking both PAT Maths and PAT Reading and over the coming weeks will be doing their Dibels testing. This gives us further knowledge around where our students' growth areas are and areas that we need to improve upon.
Knowledge Society
Students have continued to respond well to the knowledge society routines. Cue to start, and entry has been the most positive of the two with students being punctual and organised for their classes. In coming weeks we will be introduced to new routines to add to our ongoing work with Knowledge Society to give our students further clarity and understanding of routines and expectations across the school.
Teacher Advisor Program
We have covered a range of topics across the year in our Teacher Advisor Program. Students are beginning to compile their understandings of the challenges that are faced by students and young people of their age. Social media and screen use, sleep, problem solving and conflict resolution have been key topics for our students in their social and emotional learning support by The Resilience Project.
Parent Teacher Interviews
It was great to see so many parents/guardians last Tuesday. Working in partnership between home and school is really important so it was great to have the conversations and set some further goals for our students.
Partnerships for the Future Friday mornings
Graeme and the Partnerships students continue to put together some amazing furniture. They have just finished another steel and wood garden set and another bench seat. These are displayed around the school, most notably at the undercover courts at the back of the oval.
