Years 7 and 8 Campaspe Boys Football

On Thursday 15th May, our Years 7 and 8 boys football teams took to the road to take part in the Campaspe football carnival in Moama. The teams led by Mr Kirby and Mr Hill respectively were raring to go and conditions couldn't have been any better.

Our Year 7 team, although undersized compared to the other schools, were full of determination and grit. A number of players worked hard across the ground to try and create scoring opportunities for their team. Coach Kirby threw the magnets around to give the boys a few different looks. Although they were unable to come away with any wins on the day, the boys held their own and competed hard.

Our Year 8s began the day in style, beating SMOTA by two goals. In their second match they came up against a fast and skillful St. Joe's team. Scoring opportunities were limited and St. Joe's ran away comfortable winners. The final three games against Ky P-12, Rochy and Echuca College were a display of what our boys could do. The boys moved the ball freely across the ground, opening up many different avenues to goal. Throughout the day 11 different players registered goals and overall the Year 8s finished outright second.

Loddon Mallee Region Cross Country

On Tuesday 27th May, several of our students made the trek to St. Arnaud to compete in the Loddon Mallee Region Cross Country. In typical St. Arnaud fashion it was cold, windy and overcast! Our students had to work their way through the hills and bushland to complete the course.

A special congratulations to Archie S (Year 8), Cyrhil C (Year 10), William H (Year 12) and James H (Year 12), who have qualified for the State Cross Country Championships in July.
