From the Principal

It’s hard to believe we are already over halfway through Term 2. The pace of the school year is certainly picking up, and as the cooler weather settles in, it’s natural to feel our energy dip. The shorter days and chilly mornings can test even the most enthusiastic among us. However, it’s often during these times of challenge that we see the most growth—in ourselves and in our students.

Despite the wintery turn, the term is far from slowing down. In fact, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks. Our Year 7 students are preparing for their camp—a valuable experience that builds confidence, independence and connection. Senior students are entering exam season, requiring focus and resilience, while others will be heading out on Outdoor Education camps, testing their limits and building teamwork in real-world settings.

In the midst of all this activity, I’d like to highlight the upcoming public holiday this Monday. It’s a timely opportunity for students and families to rest, reset, and take a breath before the final push toward the end of term. We hope it provides a well-earned moment to recharge.

These moments of pause are important, but so too is the perseverance that follows. As psychologist Angela Duckworth reminds us: "Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is sticking with your future—day in, day out—not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years."

We continue to see our students demonstrating this kind of grit—showing up, leaning into challenges, and striving to be their best. Let’s keep encouraging them to stay the course and finish the term with confidence and pride.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a strong and positive finish to Term 2 together.
