Dear Parents,

This week we have marked two significant events in our national calendar: National Sorry Day – on Monday – and National Reconciliation Week, which runs from 27th May to 3rd June. On National Sorry Day, we pay our respects and acknowledge the Stolen Generations. It’s a time for reflection, recognition and compassion as we commit to healing and building a more genuine relationship with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. This year’s theme for National Reconciliation Week, ‘Bridging Now to Next’, invites us to reconcile the past with the present, and walk together towards a more respectful and inclusive future. Our children have decorated hands this week to display in classrooms and around the school. We also have over 100 children taking part in the Bathurst Council Reconciliation Walk/Run and BBQ on Friday. We hope to see lots of our families join us.

We had the most wonderful time today at our ’Daffodil Delights’ Morning Tea, raising funds for Daffodil Cottage. Thank you to all our families who donated cakes, biscuits and a host of other yummy treats for morning tea. Thank you to the many parents and friends who came along to support our annual fundraiser. At the time of printing, we had raised $1620.00 from sales during Break 1. A big thank you to Mrs Murphy for coordinating the Daffodil Delights Morning Tea.

Game Changer Challenge 2025 – Stage 1 Complete! A big congratulations to our incredible student team – Heidi, Charlotte, Evie, Peyton and Adeline – for successfully completing Stage 1 of the 2025 Game Changer Challenge! With a focus on tackling plastic pollution, these young changemakers have demonstrated creativity, critical thinking and teamwork. The team is now gearing up for Stage 2, set to take place in Term 3. We can’t wait to see the innovative ideas they develop. The 2025 Game Changer Challenge is a statewide initiative that empowers students to explore real-world problems and design innovative solutions. This year’s wicked problem is ‘ensuring sustainable futures for all’, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12. Challengers are encouraged to think big, collaborate and make a positive impact on the environment and their communities. Thank you, Mrs Guihot, for the work you are doing with the team.

Last week Harvey Glasgow was selected in the Western Boys Netball Team. This is an outstanding effort.
