School Attendance

Why Attendance Matters

The Department of Education Victoria emphasises that every day counts—even missing one day a fortnight can add up to four full weeks of missed learning in a year. Maintaining high attendance helps learners to be connected and succeed academically and socially.

We encourage families to continue promoting punctual and regular attendance by:

  • Establishing consistent morning routines
  • Planning appointments outside of school hours where possible
  • Communicating proactively with staff about any challenges

School gates open at 8:30am, and learning begins promptly at 8:45am. It’s essential that learners arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to ensure they are ready to start the day on time. Every minute counts—being here from the start sets the tone for a successful day of learning.

It is so great that, on average as a school we are sitting at just on 90% attendance. A big shout out to our Prep students, who have been at school over 95% of the time!

90% attendance equates to a day a fortnight off over the whole year- 20 days all up.

20 school days is 4 weeks of learning across the year.

This reminds us how important it is to be at school as often as possible to improve learning and relationships.

Please let us know via Compass or call admin for any missed days. If you need to talk to us about attendance, please let us know.
