Athletics Day recording
Until the end of Week 6, Grade 3-6 students will be participating in athletics activities where we will be recording results (for either heats or as their final result) for our Athletics Day. If your child misses a P.E. session, please touch base with me if they wish to complete this event for results prior to Athletics Day. We will not be taking any results after the 6 March, 2026. Please let Claire Morris know if you have any questions.
Interhouse Athletics
We are getting excited as we prepare for our Interhouse Athletics on 10 March, 2026. Please click here for more information on the event.
If you can please ensure your child knows what group they will be in on the day, that would be very helpful (e.g. if they turn 10 on their 2025 birthday, they will be in the 10YO group). Dressing up in house colours is encouraged for those wishing to but please remember to wear their school hat, bring a healthy lunch/snack and water bottle.
Please contact your child’s class teacher if you have any questions about the day.
To make this day possible, we have jobs that need filling. If you are able to help for all or part of the day (9.00am - 2.30pm) can you please contact Claire Morris claire.morris@education.vic.gov.au). No experience necessary, but if you do have some knowledge around specific events, please let me know in your email. All helpers will need to submit a copy of their Working With Children Check (quickly and easily obtained online for free) and completed Code of Conduct form to the front office prior to the day. The office staff and I are more than happy to assist you with these if needed. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
SSV State Team Nominations
The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides a development platform for Victoria’s emerging student athletes to participate in the annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships. SSV coordinates the selection process for Team Vic teams in partnership with relevant state sporting organisations.
If your daughter/son is passionate about any of the sports listed below and meets the following criteria, please contact Claire Morris (claire.morris@education.vic.gov.au) with all relevant information at least two weeks prior to SSV nomination closing dates.
· Australian Football 12 Years and Under Boys
· Basketball 12 Years and Under Girls
· Basketball 12 Years and Under Boys
· Cricket 12 Years and Under Boys
· Football (Soccer) 12 Years and Under Boys
· Netball 12 Years and Under Girls Please note that other sports are available.
Please check the SSV website for more information.
Students must be nominated by their school. Parents cannot nominate students because each school can only nominate a maximum number of students for each sport. We will consider each nomination and contact parents if we believe their child meets the nomination criteria. Only suitably skilled students will be nominated.
Criteria:
· Students must have represented their school/club at an extremely high level including Regional/State.
· Been selected in a representative team (i.e. for Ballarat or a Region)
· Received a league award (not just a club or coaches award) in their chosen sport (e.g. Best and Fairest for the competition, highest goalkicker, etc)
Please read the Team Vic Information Sheet on the sport page before nominating your son/daughter. This document contains important information on the SSV Team Vic Program, in relation to eligibility, registration, multiclass, selection, participation costs, and financial assistance.
If you wish to register your son/daughter to be considered for nomination, please contact Claire Morris at least two weeks prior to SSV nomination closing dates.
What to bring to P.E.:
Just a reminder for all students to bring with them their P.E. shoes, drink bottle (and hats in Term 1+4) to their P.E. classes. A different pair of sports shoes need to be brought to P.E. as per the uniform policy. This allows us to keep safe, look after our gym and make the most of our lessons together. Thanks to everyone who continues to remember these.
