Scotsburn Relocation to Buninyong Tomorrow - Wednesday 11th February - Extreme Fire Risk Rating
Tomorrow, Wednesday 11th February has been again rated Extreme Fire Danger, meaning that we will again need to relocate to the Buninyong Campus for the entire day.
This will also mean that any scheduled Meet and Greet bookings will also need to be completed at the Buninyong Campus, in the following location:
Mr Morgan/Mrs Connor/Mrs Morgan - Breakfast Club classroom and adjoining room (office block building) - adjacent to the courtyard
As a reminder, as Scotsburn is on the Bushfire at Risk Register, we are required to relocate when the rating is Catastrophic, however also choosing to relocate when the rating is Extreme. When there is a rating of High, we make a decision in the best interests of our families and students.
With the Central Victoria area now being rated as Extreme risk for tomorrow, we have made the decision to relocate.
As always, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause at drop off or pick up.
With this in mind, the following arrangements have been made for tomorrow, Wednesday 11th February, 2026:
- Buses will run as normal, with drop off and pick up now at Buninyong Campus
- Classroom spaces will be made available for both SC1 and SC2 at the Buninyong Campus throughout the day, in our usual location adjacent to the courtyard.
- Jarrod will be up at Scotsburn before school this morning to catch any students who miss this Compass message. Jarrod can also transport students to Buninyong for families who can’t drop off at Buninyong.
- Students to meet Mrs Connor and Mrs Morgan from 8:45am in the courtyard at Buninyong
- Our specialist program with Mrs Morgan will run as normal, out of spaces at the Buninyong Campus
- SC2 will need runners for Athletics training in Physical Education
- Grade 5/6 students will join the Buninyong 5/6 cohort for an eSafety workshop from 11:50am - 1pm (teachers will assist students with this)
- All Scotsburn students will be ready for pick up in the courtyard at Buninyong at 1pm (early pick up for Meet and Greet interviews)
Thanks again for your flexibility and understanding in ensuring that we maintain the safety of our staff and students. Any questions, please contact Jarrod.

Congratulations to the following students who received a Bunjil Award at last week’s first Scotsburn assembly for the year. You have all made a wonderful start to 2026!

2026 Scotsburn Student Leaders
Last Friday at the Scotsburn assembly, Lincoln, Darragh and Lachy received their Scotsburn Leader badges as well as ran their first assembly. The boys did a fantastic job, and we know they will do a wonderful job leading the Scotsburn campus throughout 2026.
Family Groups - Starting this Friday
Friday Family Groups will be kicking off this week. We will run these sessions this year from 2:30pm - 3:30pm, on weeks where we don’t have assemblies. For Term 1, we will have a cooking group and a sustainability/team building group. Across the year, we will look to keep the cooking group consistent, along with our Sustainability Group. It is a good idea to send a small Tupperware container with your child during the weeks that they are cooking, as they may bring some yummy food home!
New Chickens!
This year we welcome two new chickens to the campus, Apricot and Cinnamon! Thanks to Emily and her family for letting them live at the campus, as well as looking after all of our chickens over the summer break.
Tuesday and Thursday Breakfast Club - Starting this week
Toastie Tuesdays and Wednesday Breakfast Club are back on! Remember to send $1 with your child on Tuesdays if they would like to purchase a toastie, and also be ready on Wednesday mornings to come into the old building for some yummy breakfast, which is free of charge! We will be once again looking for some parent assistance with these programs - please let any Scotsburn staff know if you can volunteer some time.
Specialist News
Below is Scotsburn’s Specialist timetable for Term 1.
Classes will swap Art and Music in Semester 2, with both subjects fitting under the broader subject of “The Arts”.
SC2 PE - Please ensure that SC2 families have taken note of our Buninyong location for athletics lessons for the next couple of weeks. This was communicated on Compass last week. With the whole campus now spending the day at Buninyong on Wednesday this week, we will no longer need to transport students back to Scotsburn.
Art and Music Timetable - In light of the new changes to the specialist program this year, I just wanted to reassure everyone that I will be trying as hard as I can to integrate creativity into our Japanese lessons, for the semester when Art is not a timetabled subject for each class. I know and love how much our Scotsburn community values creativity, as do I. At the moment, our “Year of the Horse” activities are providing a lot of arty fun!

Additionally, if you sourced your own stationery and you require a Spelling Mastery text book for your child/children, please contact the office and they can assist you. Students who require these will need them in the coming weeks.
Bus Travellers
If your son/daughter is a bus traveller and you haven’t already done so, please contact the Buninyong campus office to complete the required forms. A reminder that if travel plans change on any certain day, please call the Scotsburn Campus or come and see the bus duty teacher before collecting your child. This will save any confusion when doing the bus roll.
Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day. We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
