Year 12 Focus Day

Year 12 Focus Day – Supporting Our Senior Students

On Tuesday 3 February, our Year 12 students participated in a dedicated Year 12 Focus Day, designed to support their academic success, wellbeing and transition into their final year of secondary schooling.

The day provided students with valuable opportunities to develop key skills and strategies they will need throughout Year 12. Sessions focused on study skills, stress management, wellbeing, and future planning, alongside engaging activities such as Tai Chi linked with self-defence and creative workshops including art therapy and origami.

Students also took part in a Careers Action Plan (CAPs) session, allowing them to reflect on their goals and plan next steps for their future pathways.

A welcome session from the Principal Team set a positive and motivating tone for the day, reinforcing high expectations while emphasising the importance of balance, resilience and self-care. The day concluded with the presentation of Year 12 jackets, a special milestone marking the beginning of students’ final year.

The Focus Day was a valuable opportunity for students to connect, reflect and prepare for the year ahead, and we look forward to supporting them as they work towards their 2026 goals.

Year 12 students attended a Careers 2026 presentation during their Focus Day on Tuesday 3rd February, highlighting the importance of being organised, informed and proactive.

All students completed their Career Action Plan and will be scheduled for at least one individual careers appointment.  These appointments will take place between March and September.

During the careers appointment, we will review and update the Career Action Plan, discuss VCE goals and intended pathways after school, explore interests and strengths, investigate possible courses or apprenticeships, and understand the importance of applying for Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) and Early Entry Programs. Each student will leave with a clear action plan to support informed decision-making.

Ongoing career updates will be shared through the weekly careers newsletter and emails covering Equity Schemes (SEAS), tertiary events/open days, scholarships and much more.

Students should continue researching options throughout the year by visiting various career planning websites which have been listed in the Year 12 Career Planning letter that was emailed to them and their parents on Tuesday 10th Feb.

I wish every student a successful year and look forward to supporting their career goals.
