What a wonderful start it has been to 2026!
The Year 5s have been incredible leaders to their Foundation Buddies. It has been wonderful to see them showing such patience, kindness and compassion towards the newest students at St Liborius. We are so proud of them.
It has been equally as wonderful to see the Year 6 students step into their Leadership roles with such enthusiasm and pride. They were just beaming as they took to the stage on Friday to accept their badges and partake in their Leadership pledges.
What an incredible group of students, we can’t wait to see what they accomplish together this year.
Students have been encouraged to label all stationery items. They have been provided with a pencil case which contains staples such as pencils, pens, a whiteboard texta and highlighter. All of these items need to be clearly labelled.
It has been excellent to see the students wearing their uniforms with pride. Just a few reminders that we expect students to wear the correct coloured socks (EG- white socks for Sports days and grey socks for normal uniform days). We also need long hair to be tied back in either navy or maroon hair ties (no other colours please).
Students have been provided with a school diary which they are using to manage their calendar and reading routines. At the beginning of the week students write their upcoming week’s events. Our expectation is that they will take home their diary each night and write in their reading.
It is our expectation that your child is reading for 30 minutes (minimum) every single evening and documenting this in their diary. It is no longer an expectation that you hear them read aloud, but we encourage you to still do this once every so often to hear how their fluency is going and check for understanding of what they are reading.
