From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

It was a joy to officially mark the beginning of our school year with our Opening School Mass on Friday. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this special celebration. We were also delighted to induct our 2026 student leaders at last week’s assembly. Congratulations to each of these students for stepping forward to serve our community with courage, kindness, and integrity. It was especially inspiring to see our Year 6 leaders confidently lead assembly this week - they did an outstanding job, and we are very proud of them.

This week marks the beginning of Lent, a sacred season that invites us to prepare our hearts and minds as we journey towards Easter. With the start of Lent, we also launch our Caritas Project Compassion campaign, standing in solidarity with our global community and supporting those who experience hardship and injustice.

As a Catholic community, we traditionally prepare for Lent by celebrating Shrove Tuesday. To mark this occasion at St Liborius, we will be serving pancakes on arrival at school. We warmly invite families to join us—please come along, share a pancake, and begin the day together in community.

On Wednesday, we will hold an Ash Wednesday liturgy for all students at school. Families are also warmly invited to join the St Liborius Parish community for Mass in the church at 6.00pm.

I would also like to take this opportunity to gently remind our community of our child-safe procedures. We truly value family involvement and always welcome your presence. However, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, parents and visitors are not permitted in classroom areas or general school grounds between 9.00am and 3.15pm unless prior arrangements have been made (such as volunteering or assisting with specific activities). If you need to visit during these hours, please sign in at the office and our staff will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for all.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead,

Alannah
