Learn what opportunities our students have been taking on
Recently, our Year 12 students spent three days in Halls Gap for their final school retreat. The retreat focuses on themes of reflection and connection, and is a wonderful opportunity to bring the cohort together at the beginning of their final year.
As well as participating in group activities to set their intentions for the year ahead, students also had time to relax with each other, explore Venus Baths and the town of Halls Gap, and enjoy activities including archery and mini golf.

Recently, at our Opening Assembly, we celebrated some of the academic achievements of our students from 2025.
Elizamary J and Cooper M completed an extension science program through Emerging Sciences Victoria. Elizamary completed the Medical Physics course, and Cooper undertook a unit in Biotechnology. Well done!
We also recognised a number of students who participated in academic competitions. Congratulations to all students who took part in the Australian History Competition, with special mention to Adam H who achieved a Distinction.
Students also had the opportunity to participate in the ICAS Mathematics competition. Well done to everyone involved!

This year we welcome Rohit Chand to the St Brigid's College team.
Rohit and his family have recently relocated from Fiji to the Wimmera. His wife, Anjina, has joined the staff at St Mary's Primary School in Warracknabeal, and their son, Reyansh, has joined us in Year 9.
Rohit brings extensive experience as a secondary teacher and leader, and this year he will be teaching Senior Biology, Mathematics, and Pastoral Care.
Please join us in welcoming Rohit and his family to our school and wider community!
Stay tuned for upcoming Newsletters for more introductions to new staff!!
We are thrilled to share that St Brigid's College has been awarded Wimmera 'Sporting School of the Year' for 2025! This was announced at the Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly Sports Star Awards on Friday evening.
Our sport program focuses on participation and leadership, while also providing many opportunities for students to compete at local and regional levels. We foster a culture where sport is not just about winning, but about enjoyment, resilience, teamwork and lifelong health.
Thank you to our dedicated staff, students, and community members and groups who support our College’s sport program and help us provide amazing opportunities for our students.

This week celebrated Shrove Tuesday, an important date in the Catholic calendar, signifying the eve of Lent.
Year 11 Accounting students took on the project of bringing 'Pancake Day' to life this year. The students each took on a role including creating and distributing marketing materials, estimating material costs and developing a comprehensive sales spreadsheet. Last week, students and staff eagerly placed their pre-orders, facilitated by the Accounting students who managed cash transactions and operated the EFTPOS machine. On the day, the students were in The Well preparing, serving, and even cleaning up after selling hundreds of pancakes! The proceeds from the project will be donated to Caritas.

Last week our Year 7 cohort spent 3 days in Robe for their Launch Camp! The camp is a wonderful opportunity for students to spend time getting to know each other and their new teachers. Highlights of the camp included surfing lessons, a visit to the Naracoorte caves, searching the beach for crabs, and of course, icecream!
