Congratulations to Year 12 student Miret Fourie and her dad, psychologist Charl Fourie, who have written a book for neurodivergent children who are currently experiencing the impact of war in the Middle East.

Year 8 student Johnny Nadler competed in school colours at the Launceston and Henley Regatta on the Tamar earlier this term. 

 

Johnny placed fourth in his single scull, first place in double with a student from Launceston Grammar, and finally in the winning eight, again with Launceston Grammar. 

 

Bravo Johnny!

We have some very talented Melaleuca Primary School House Captains. Chloe Myers and Christian Wedlock are both State Cup Champions – their Launceston Touch Association (LTA) teams won the U12 Girls and U12 Boys State Cup for touch football in February. 

 

At the association's awards night, they were recognised: Christian, for U12 Grand Final Premiers, U12 Player of the Final and U12 Best and Fairest; and Chloe for U12 Grand Final Premiers, U12 Player of the Final, U12 Top Tri Scorer, and U12 Best and Fairest.

A big shoutout to Miles Chandler in Year 9, who represented Tasmania as captain at the Under 14 Indoor Hockey National Championships in Goulburn, NSW!

Year 9 student Clarice Kirschbaum was awarded the highest music examination result in Tasmania for the Grade Six level during the 2025 examination series.  The St Cecilia School of Music student achieved the outstanding result of 96% (546 students sat music examinations in Tasmania alone last year).

 

What an amazing achievement!

 

Congratulations Clarice, we pray God continues to grow your musical talents.

Year 6 student Molly Bonner competed in the state netball carnival recently after her NTNA team won their division grand final. 

 

They played against the Southern Tasmania Netball Association team in a tight game, winning by just one point.

Year 7 student Noah Blazely attended the 2026 AusCycling Junior Track National Championships in Brisbane last month and did exceptionally well, coming away with two podiums. It was his first nationals campaign, and his first year in the U15 division. 

 

He competed in all six events across the week and finished third in the 2000m Individual Pursuit and the U15 Boys Keirin. 

 

We're so proud of you Noah, congratulations on this superb achievement.
