Book Week

This year’s Book Week at DPS embraced the exciting theme, Book an Adventure. Students enthusiastically participated in a range of activities throughout the week. Highlights included a creative Cake Decorating Competition where students brought their favourite stories to life. There were also engaging visits to the Book Fair, sparking a love for new reads.
The week also featured a special author visit from Felice Arena, giving students the unique opportunity to meet and learn from a celebrated writer. Perform Education delighted our Prep-Three audiences with a captivating show based on the shortlisted Book Week books for 2025, bringing the stories to life on stage.
The Book Fair has been a huge success. Thank you to all the parents for your support. The money will be used for new Literacy resources for our school. Don't forget that we have sales this afternoon, on Monday morning/afternoon and Tuesday morning.
In addition, students enjoyed colouring competitions, quizzes based on teachers’ favourite books, and a colourful Dress Up Parade where they came as beloved characters from their favourite stories. Teachers and Principals also joined in on the fun! It was a joyful celebration that truly inspired everyone to book an adventure through reading!
Congratulations to all our Book Week winners below!
