Prep

100 Days of School

The Prep students celebrated their 100 Days of School this term with a fun filled day! We had a special visit from Bluey, enjoyed delicious finger buns, and took part in a range of exciting activities to mark the special occasion!

 

Reading

This term, the Prep students have been learning how to summarise both fiction and non-fiction texts. They’ve been practising how to pick out the main ideas and important parts of what they read.

 

Writing

In Writing this term, the Prep students have been learning about rhyming words through fun and engaging activities. They have also continued to build on their recount writing skills and have enjoyed writing letters to the VIP, helping them practise writing for different purposes.

 

 

Phonics

In Phonics this term, the Prep students have been learning about digraphs such as 'sh', 'wh', 'th', and 'ck' which are two letters that work together to make one sound. They have also continued learning through our 'Word of the Week' to build their vocabulary and spelling skills.

 

Maths

In Maths this term, the Prep students have been learning about equal groups and how to share objects between two. They’ve also been exploring location and positional language, using words like ‘next to’, ‘in front of’ and ‘behind’ to describe where things are.

 

Theme

In Theme this term, the preps have been learning about how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are the First Peoples of Australia. They are learning about the meaning of the flags, the importance of sacred sites, how stories are shared through art, music, dance, and songlines, and how culture is celebrated today.
