NAIDOC Week celebrations
In the art room over the last two weeks we have been celebrating NAIDOC week which ran in the July school holidays. We learnt about the indigenous culture by exploring tools and musical instruments used by Aboriginal people, looked at symbols used to represent stories in their artwork and watched dreamtime stories. Grade F/1/2 have created a collaborative artwork of the creator spirit Bunjil the Eagle, and Grade 5/6 students have created a handprint dot painting. The Grade 3/4 students used inspiration from Australian Indigenous artist Bronwyn Bancroft to create a set of hands that will be a part of a NAIDOC week display hanging in the foyer for Term 3.
