 Book Week - Book Parade

As we look ahead, we’re beyond excited for Book Week in Term 3! This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure!”, promises to be a thrilling celebration of reading and creativity. Mark your calendars for Wednesday 6 August when we’ll host our spectacular Book Parade! Students will have the chance to dress up as their favourite literary characters, showcasing their creativity and passion for reading. We can’t wait to see all the imaginative costumes and the joy they bring!

Author Visit

As part of the Book Week celebration, we will be hosting author talks with three amazing Australian authors. These talks will take place in Week Five, with each stage getting its own author talk. The authors will discuss their books, share insights about their careers, and even guide students through some creative exercises to inspire our aspiring writers. There will be more information on this in next week's newsletter.

Join Your Local Library

Joining your local library is incredibly important. Not only does it provide access to an endless selection of novels and academic literature, but there are also a number of branches you can visit within your library network, depending on where you live. Additionally, most library networks now offer online resources that you can access from home.

Local libraries also provide a safe environment for studying, with quiet rooms that can be booked for you and your family, ensuring a focused and distraction-free space for learning and productivity. You can also book a computer to help complete your assignments.

Moreover, libraries host a variety of engaging events and programs for members of all ages, including author talks, workshops, and reading clubs. These activities not only foster a love for reading but also create opportunities for community engagement and connection with others who share similar interests. By becoming a member of your local library, you invest in your personal growth and contribute to a vibrant community resource that enriches lives through knowledge and creativity.

That's all from us this week. Until next time, keep on reading!
