Year 3/4 News

LITERACY
This fortnight, our Grade 3/4 students have been learning all about Poetry! Students have written a variety of poems using a range of poetry tools, including - rhyme, alliteration, onomatopoeia, adjectives, similes and repetition. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning to write Haiku poems, Limericks and Octopoems. Be sure to come along to the Poetry Walk on Friday 22nd August (Week 5) to see their fabulous work on display!
Also in our Literacy block, students have been participating in word work everyday focusing on a particular sound and it's spelling rule, as well as improving their handwriting, grammar and punctuation and much more!
MATHS - Angles NOT angels
Our 3/4 students have been learning to identify, name, draw and describe a range of angles. Ask your child if they can name all 6 angles in order from smallest to largest - acute, right angle, obtuse, straight, reflex and revolution. Students were even able to measure the degrees of angles using a protractor!
