Student Attendance - "Everyday Counts"
Did you know?
We all want our children to get a great education, and the building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each day. If students miss school regularly, they miss learning the fundamental skills that will set them up for success in the later years of school. There is no “safe” number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them behind and can affect their educational outcomes. Each absent day is associated with progressively lower achievement in numeracy, writing and reading.
Family holidays during school term
If you are planning a take a family holiday during the school term, parents must email the Principal to request approval. Without prior approval, your child's absence will be recorded as an unauthorised absence.
Please send approval requests to Lisa at: lisa.duffy@education.vic.gov.au
No Hat No Play!
From 1st September to 30th April
A reminder that all students are required to wear a hat from Monday 1st September. Students without a hat are required to sit undercover during recess and lunch.
There is a limited supply of slouch / bucket hats at the school office, these can be purchased via QKR for $15.00 each, or alternatively you may purchase from our local supplier Worklocker or Hip Pocket Workwear in Echuca.
Prep Enrolments Are Now Due!
If you are planning to enrol your child in Prep at Lockington Consolidated School for the 2026 school year, please submit your completed enrolment forms to the school office as soon as possible.
Timely enrolments are essential as they help us accurately plan for the year ahead — including staffing, class structures, and resource allocation — to ensure the best possible start for every student.
Enrolment packs are available from the school office.
If you would like to book a school tour or have any questions, please contact us on (03) 5486 2474.
Student Accident Insurance – Important Information
Please take a moment to read the following information regarding the Department’s insurance policy to ensure you are fully informed:
Student Accident Insurance
Parents and guardians of students who do not have student accident insurance are responsible for all medical costs if their child is injured at school or during school activities. This includes ambulance fees and any other transport-related costs. Families may choose to purchase student accident insurance through a commercial insurer.
Personal Property
Parents, guardians, and staff are reminded that the Department does not provide insurance for personal property brought to school. The school has no capacity to cover the cost of any loss or damage to such items.
For further information, please contact the school office.
That is all for this week, Lisa Lind
