Principals Message

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break, recharged and ready for the busy and exciting weeks that lie ahead. This term is particularly significant as we prepare for many important events and milestones.

For our Year 12 students, this is the final term of their high school journey, and it is essential that they approach it with focus and determination. The preparation for their trial exams is paramount, as these assessments play a crucial role in their final HSC results. I encourage all Year 12 students to utilise the resources available to them, and remind them that their hard work now will pay off in the long run.

Term 3 will be a time for reflection, celebration, and community engagement. Throughout the term, Year 12 will hold various fundraising activities aimed at supporting their chosen charity, Can Assist. Week 10 will be Year 12’s Celebration Week which will finish with their Graduation Assembly on Thursday September 25.

This Wednesday, we will celebrate NAIDOC Day at Narrandera High School, and it promises to be a fantastic event. We are excited to welcome local community members who will be facilitating a range of activities designed to educate and immerse our students in the rich cultures and histories of the local Wiradjuri peoples. From dance workshops to bush tucker sessions, there will be something for everyone. I encourage all students to actively participate and learn from our guests, as this is a wonderful opportunity to foster understanding and respect within our school community.

I would like to remind our students and parents that the Stage 6 subject selection process begins this Wednesday evening. We will host an information session where families can learn more about the available subjects and the pathways they offer. Following this, we will conduct subject talks next week, providing deeper insights into what each course entails.

To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to discuss their options, we will also be holding one-on-one interviews with Mrs Ing for students and their parents. Please make sure to book your interviews online to secure your preferred time slot. This is a vital step for our students as they make important decisions about their future educational pathways.
