From the Principal

This week at St Liborius is truly one to celebrate as we honour significant milestones and share in the excitement of our vibrant school community.

On Friday, we marked "100 Days of Magnify" as a school community. For our Foundation students, this day celebrated their first 100 days of primary school — a moment filled with pride, joy, and reflection on how far they have come in such a short time. It was a pleasure to welcome families into the classrooms for our Open Morning, and to share a beautiful morning tea together.

At the same time, this milestone also marked 100 days of Magnify Sandhurst here at St Liborius for all students. It has been heartening to reflect on the collective growth and learning that has taken place since the beginning of this new chapter. We were honoured to have Kate Fogarty, Executive Director of Catholic Education Sandhurst, join our celebrations and share in the joy of the day.

Adding to our sense of pride, we are delighted to share that our students have shown significant growth in their recent progress monitoring. These results give us great confidence that the Magnify approach is already having a powerful impact on student learning. Our students and staff have worked with commitment and purpose, and it is a joy to see their achievements being realised.

As if that wasn't enough reason to celebrate — the curtain is about to rise on our long-awaited school production of The Wizard of Oz! After months of preparation and countless hours of rehearsal, our students are ready to shine.

Whilst the performances themselves will be full of colour, energy, and talent, we know that this show represents something even greater — a celebration of the learning, resilience, courage, and teamwork that have underpinned every step of the creative process. We are beyond proud of our students and what they have achieved.

A heartfelt thank you to our extraordinary production team — Steph Sefton, Claire Sexton, and parent volunteer Alise Cummins — for generously sharing their talents and time. We also extend our gratitude to the many other staff and parents who have supported the production in ways big and small. Your contribution has helped create an unforgettable experience for our students. For those who will be in the audience, we hope that you truly enjoy your skip, hop and jump down the yellow brick road!

As previously communicated, with three performances and a full-dress rehearsal, we understand that students will be very tired by the end of the week. We are aware that some families are planning to keep their children home for a well-earned rest on Friday.

If this is the case for your family, we kindly ask that you notify the school via PAM as soon as possible, so we can plan appropriate learning experiences for those who will be at school.

Finally, a reminder that student learning goals will be made available on SIMON this Friday. We encourage all families to log in and view the goals set by your child's teacher, following recent Goal Setting Meetings. These goals are a valuable part of your child’s learning journey and offer great insight into their next steps.

Here’s to a week full of celebration, connection, and pride in all that we achieve together!

With many blessings,

Alannah Darmody
