English News

Our Year 11 Standard English students showed incredible creativity and analytical skill in their Term 2 assessments for the Contemporary Possibilities unit. Having studied the innovative and iconic film 'Run Lola Run', students were tasked with creating a visual representation and an accompanying analysis. We were thoroughly impressed by the high standard of work submitted. Many students went above and beyond, producing pieces that were not only visually detailed but also demonstrated a high level of critical and creative thinking. Their ability to deconstruct the film's complex themes, unique structure, and cinematic techniques was truly outstanding. A huge congratulations to all the students for their hard work and a special thanks to the English faculty for their guidance. The assessments were a testament to the students' deep engagement with the text and their ability to think like filmmakers and critics. We can't wait to see what they produce next!

Year 8 Narrative Day

On Wednesday and Thursday last week, Year 8 students participated in engaging Narrative Writing Workshops held by the English Faculty. These workshops were designed to enhance their creative and analytical writing skills while also improving their literacy by guiding students through the key elements of narrative structure, character development, and plot construction. By strengthening their writing skills, students are not only better equipped for assessments like NAPLAN, but also for improving their in-class writing abilities, which are crucial for overall academic success
