Senior School

As we wrap up an extraordinary 11-week Term 2, it’s time to reflect on the many exciting events and achievements across our Middle and Senior Schools. From academic milestones to creative showcases, our students and staff have truly demonstrated resilience, enthusiasm, and excellence.
VCE GAT and Subject Selection Season
Senior students enrolled in a Unit 3/4 course recently sat the VCE General Achievement Test (GAT), a key milestone in their VCE journey. The GAT not only assesses general knowledge and skills but also plays a role in ensuring fairness in VCE assessments. Well done to all students who approached the day with focus and determination.
On Wednesday 26 June, we hosted both the 2025 VCE Information Evening and the 2025 Subject Information Evening. These events were a resounding success, with a considerable turnout of students and parents engaging in sessions held in the BPAC and exploring subject displays in the Middle School Building. Teachers were on hand to enthusiastically promote their subjects, answer questions, and guide students in making informed decisions about their VCE pathways.
A big thank you to all staff who contributed to these evenings. PDF copies of the information booklets that were handed out on the night will be distributed to families in the coming weeks.
Important Reminders
Subject selections for 2026 are due by Friday 1 August for current Year 9 and 10 students.
Students interested in fast-tracking a VCE subject must review the eligibility criteria carefully before submitting their request.
VET applications will open in mid-August and must be submitted via the Careers and Student Pathways Coordinator.
Year 9 Election Program
The Year 9 Election Program kicked off on Friday 27 June, continuing into the following week. Our Year 9 students embraced the challenge of simulating a real-world election with creativity and enthusiasm. From drafting policies and engaging with staff and students to preparing campaign materials and hosting HQs in the Middle School Building, the energy was electric.
Campaign teams pulled out all the stops, offering an impressive array of treats to entice voters—perhaps the most food we’ve ever seen in a school election! A huge thank you to Mr White, Mrs Robinson, and Ms Haley for their outstanding coordination and support of this much-loved program.
Senior School Ensemble Evening & 2025 Production
The Senior School Ensemble Evening showcased the incredible musical talent of our students. Families and staff were treated to a night of inspiring performances, highlighting the dedication and skill of our ensembles. Congratulations to all performers and music staff for a memorable evening.
Meanwhile, preparations for the 2025 Middle Years Production of Frozen JR. are ramping up! Rehearsals are in full swing, and excitement is building. Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to opening night.
Looking Ahead to Term 3
Although Term 3 is a shorter 8-week term, it promises to be packed with important events and activities. Our Year 10, 11, and 12 students will be navigating a tight schedule filled with exams, assessments, presentation evenings, and celebration events. We encourage all students to stay organised and seek support when needed.
Parent-Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Week 4 of Term 3:
Face-to-face evening: Thursday 21 August
Online interviews: Friday 22 August
Details and booking instructions for our new system, BOOKED, have been sent to families via the Oxley App. Please ensure bookings are made promptly to secure your preferred times.
Final Thoughts for Semester 1
As we approach the holiday break, it’s important to pause and reflect on the blessings of the term and the opportunity for rest. Amidst busy schedules and academic pressures, we are reminded of the importance of renewal—both physically and spiritually.
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
We are each actively invited to find peace in Christ, especially when we feel overwhelmed. The holidays offer a chance to reconnect with family, recharge, and prepare for the term ahead.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
We wave goodbye to Semester 1 with a sense of gratitude for the term that’s been and hope for what’s to come. May this time be filled with joy, rest, and reflection.
