School Musical Rehearsals Underway!
Kinect2Dance have begun rehearsals with our students in preparation for this year’s School Musical, A Night at the Museum. Students are having loads of fun singing, bending, twisting, marching, and learning exciting movement sequences. We can’t wait to see it all come together on stage! Our musical is on the 8th and 9th September at Lauriston Girls' school.
Wellbeing Open Morning
Thank you to all the families who joined us at our recent Open Classroom Wellbeing morning. We had a large number of families who enjoyed participating in a range of wellbeing activities with their child. As always, the students thoroughly enjoyed having their family members in their classroom.
Foundation Myuna Farm
Foundation Farm Report: The highlight of our week was our visit to Myuna farm as part of our science unit on living and non-living things. We met lots of the farm animals we have been learning about in class and found out about the important things they need to grow and live a healthy life. We even got to help the farmer milk a goat!
Year 1 Melbourne Zoo
Recently, our Grade 1 students enjoyed a wonderful day at the Melbourne Zoo as part of their learning about animals and habitats.
The children had the opportunity to observe a wide variety of animals closeup —from Tasmanian devils to giraffes. Highlights of the day included watching the Sumatran tiger meander past the glassed window, visiting the Butterfly House, and ‘hands on’ learning with the zoo educators.
Grade 6 Toy Sale Success!
Last week, our Grade 6 students hosted a hugely successful toy sale, offering a fantastic range of pre-loved toys—from dinosaurs to stuffed animals—all in great condition. The event raised an impressive $1,665, with all funds going towards the Grade 6 Graduation at the end of the year. A big thank you to all the families who generously donated toys and to Karen Reynolds and Angela Mulhall and their team of volunteers who organised and helped man the stall!
Chess Interschool Tournament
Last week, at the Chess Victoria Zonal Interschool Tournament, TPS ranked 1st amongst over 20 participating schools. Each chess player competed very well, and the top 5 collectively earned 27.5 (making them the winning team). Well done Rupsy, Telek, Michael, Arthur, Jacob, Axel, Yanni, Jerome and Beau! Toorak Primary School chess players continue to be very adept and will progress to the state championships later in the year!
Congratulations Max, our Principal of the Week!
Our Principal of the Week, Max took on the important role of making school announcements, visiting classrooms, and rewarding fellow students with tokens and stickers for excellent behaviour and outstanding work. Max earned 100 positive reward tokens to obtain this reward. He also assisted with yard duty and helped Mrs. Wildermuth with some very important school tasks. Thank you, Max, for doing such a fantastic job!
