Year 10 Report

Siobhan Finn

The term is whizzing by with exams completed last week and work experience fast approaching. I’m excited for our students to gain valuable practical skills and industry specific knowledge through their placements next week. It’s an excellent opportunity for students to build confidence, a stronger resume and social skills in new contexts. Well done to those who have demonstrated initiative and taken advantage of supports available to secure a position.

Student of the week

10B Muskan was awarded student of the week at our last assembly for demonstrating the school values across various contexts in the school. Whether it’s demonstrating kindness towards peers, maintaining high expectations of herself, responding positively to feedback to improve or going above and beyond when the class is packing up after practical activities.

Honourable Mentions

10C Arabella - for supporting her peers with class work, demonstrating patience and care.

10B Xavier - for demonstrating initiative and organisation to secure a work experience placement.

10D Rex  - for making effective use of class time in Personal Development Skills.

Uniform Reminder & Sticker Reward Charts

During homegroup students have been rewarded with a sticker for every day that they arrived to class prepared for learning - with the correct equipment and books. Those who obtained 8 stickers across a 2 week period received a small prize. This week our goals have shifted to wearing full and correct academic uniform. With the weather cooling, families are reminded that hoodies, tracksuit pants, flared leggings and non-school jackets are not permitted as part of the academic uniform. Students can however opt to wear long sleeve tops in neutral colours (white, grey or black) underneath their shirt to help stay warm. Students can also purchase a school beanie from the general office for $25.

Wearing the correct uniform helps establish an equitable and safe learning environment, as well as a sense of belonging. We appreciate the support of families in ensuring that their children attend school in the correct uniform. If you require assistance in obtaining uniform items, please reach out to the Year Level leader or your home group teacher.
