What's on in our Science Classrooms?
Our Year 7 classes have started to learn about all things classification!
Our students have been exploring the following key themes:
What makes something living or non-living?
What requirements do living things have?
How can we organise or classify plants and animals?
Our Year 8 students completed their Physics unit and have now begun their Science Fair project.
Below are some photos of 8D completing their marble run experiment which demonstrated application of physical forces on an object, the marble!
Our Year 9 classes are undertaking their Science exam this week to demonstrate their first semester of learning in science and practice crucial exam skills.
After finishing their exams, our Year 9's will be moving onto exploring the immune system as part of their science fair project!
Year 10 students successfully completed their exams last week and now commence their unit of Genetics! They will explore how different traits are inherited from parents, how to predict potential outcomes using punnet squares and pedigree charts and apply these to a range of real life situations such as genetic testing for different inherited disorders!
