Year 12 Report

Claire Blower

It’s hard to believe, but we’re officially over halfway through Year 12. That’s right—you’ve made it through more than half of your final year of school.

While it might not feel like a huge milestone in the middle of a busy term, it’s worth stopping for a second to recognise just how far you’ve come. From assessments to excursions, wellbeing events and dress-up days, and everything in between—this group has already achieved so much.

Speaking of dress-ups, the Elderly Person Dress Up Day brought some much-needed laughs last week! From walking frames to grey wigs and some very convincing “old people shuffles,” the commitment was top-tier. It was great to see everyone getting involved and having fun together.

The buzz around the Senior Social is also building fast. The PromposalCompetition has been in full swing, with some incredible, creative efforts popping up around the school. It’s clear this group is ready to celebrate in style—and the excitement for the last Social of high school is well and truly on.

Practice exams will be held during the school holidays for VCE scored students and these are a vital opportunity to solidify learning, identify gaps, and prepare for the final sprint. Prioritising these will set students up for success and develop positive exam behaviours important in the VCAA examination period.

As the cooler weather settles in, there has been an increase in students out of uniform—particularly jumpers (hoodies), jackets, and non-school pants (trackies). We completely understand that Year 12 is nearly wrapping up and that uniform is costly, but wearing the correct uniform still matters. It reflects pride in your school, keeps expectations consistent, and helps maintain a sense of unity—especially as we push through these final months together. If you're having trouble getting uniform items to stay warm and comfortable, please reach out. We can assist with purchasing uniform to get you through to the end of the year. Don’t hesitate to ask—we’re here to support you.

Amongst the fun and learning opportunities, I also want to remind everyone that this term is a big one. It’s long, it’s packed, and yes—it can get tiring and stressful. That’s completely normal.  Lean on your friends, your teachers, and your routines. Keep turning up. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Please reach out if you need support!

The finish line isn’t here just yet—but it’s definitely in sight. And the well-earned break waiting at the end of this term will be worth it.

You’re all doing great! Let’s keep going!
