Welcome to the Final Newsletter for Term 2 đÂ
Â
Itâs hard to believe weâve reached the end of Term 2âthis term has absolutely flown by and has certainly been a busy one for our Year 11 students.Â
Â
Last week, our Year 11 VCE students completed their end-of-semester exams. I am incredibly proud of how well they prepared themselves, managed their schedules around exam clashes, and conducted themselves with maturity throughout the entire process.Â
Â
Their organisation and respectful behaviour are a true credit to themâand a sign of the growth weâre seeing across the cohort.
Â
Student Leadership Shout Out â Ruby MerrettÂ
Â
A big shoutout to our wonderful Year 11 Student Leader, Ruby Merrett, for giving up her time over the past few weeks to present at our senior school assemblies.Â
Â
Ruby recently attended a staff Professional Learning Day where she learned about a teaching strategy, we use called chunkingâa method that helps break down information into manageable parts to support learning.Â
Â
Ruby then took the initiative to share this technique with her peers, helping students better understand how they can use it in their own study. This is a fantastic example of student advocacy and leadership in action here at Woodmanâs Hill Secondary College.Â
Â
Well, done, Rubyâweâre proud of your efforts and commitment!Â
Â
Uniform Reminder for Term 3Â
Â
As mentioned in previous newsletters, we kindly ask families to use the upcoming school holidays as an opportunity to ensure students return in full and correct academic uniform at the start of Term 3.Â
Â
Wearing the correct uniform helps promote a strong sense of pride and belonging across our Senior school community and also keep all students recognisable and safe in the instance of an emergency.Â
Â
Please remember that hoodies, tracksuit pants, flared leggings and non-school jackets including hoodies are not permitted as part of the academic uniform. If items are wet, or not available please ensure you write your child a note and they come to the senior school office at the start of the day and get a uniform pass.Â
Â
If your child requires support in obtaining uniform items, please donât hesitate to contact myself the senior school office or your homegroup teacherâweâre here to help.Â
