This year at HEPS, we’re excited to be working closely with the Department of Education and the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to make significant improvements to our learning environment.
Our goal is to ensure that every student has access to engaging and functional spaces that support their learning and wellbeing. These developments are part of ongoing upkeep, maintenance and the first stage of our school’s master plan.
To keep our school community informed, we’ve outlined the key improvement areas and their current status in the table below. This will help you stay up to date with what we’re working on and how each project is progressing.
We look forward to sharing more updates with you as the year progresses.
Next Friday, the 4th July, marks the end of term 2. We have had a very full term and have provided a large number of exciting events for the children. Both our staff and students are now looking forward to the two week break. School will conclude next Friday at 2:30pm. TeamKids will again be open and running a great vacation program for families who are needing their children supervised over the break. We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing break away from HEPS and are ready to return on the 21st July.
Sunday's Working Bee was a great success, with a fantastic turnout from our school community. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to wash windows around the school, plant and mulch garden beds, and prune the roses. There was even a dedicated group working on costumes and props for the school production, while others helped sort through our second-hand clothing. A big thank you to all the parents who attended and gave their time. Your support is truly appreciated. The morning wrapped up with a well-deserved BBQ and icy poles, which were a big hit with everyone!
Recently our HEPS basketball teams proudly represented our school at the Hooptime Basketball Tournament at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South. The students had a fantastic time, playing with enthusiasm and energy. They showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day, supported their teammates, and displayed great respect for others. Well done to all involved – we are proud of your efforts both on and off the court!
Just a reminder that parents will be able to access reports via Compass on Thursday, 3rd July from 4:00 PM. We encourage you to save a digital version of your child's report to access at a later date; this is especially important for our Level 6 students as they transition to high school.
From 6–13 July (over the school holidays), we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025, recognising the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week, with the theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”. NAIDOC Week is a great opportunity for our school community to learn, reflect, and engage in activities that celebrate and respect First Nations cultures.
