Level 3

Literacy

In Reading Groups we have been learning and practicing the different roles that a book club member might be asked to undertake. The roles include: Super summariser, Wizard word finder, Quiz me questioner, Catchy connector and Author analyser. This week we are enjoying being a member of our very own book club group! Below are examples of what each roles requires us to do.

In Level Three, we’ve also been busy becoming expert authors of animal information reports! After researching and drafting, we’ve focused on carefully editing our writing and presenting it with our neatest handwriting, captivating front covers, glowing glossaries and curious contents pages!  Our final reports include detailed, labelled drawings to help explain key features of each animal. The classroom has been buzzing with curious facts, colourful illustrations, and proud smiles as students publish their work with care and creativity.

Numeracy

Amazing Angles in Level Three!

Level Three mathematicians have been turning heads—literally—as we explore angles as measures of turns! We’ve been learning to identify different types of angles, including acute, obtuse, right, straight, and reflex angles. With protractors in hand, students have been measuring angles in degrees and sharpening their geometry skills. One of the highlights was our Angles Scavenger Hunt, where we searched high and low around the school to spot real-life angles in action. It’s been a fun and hands-on way to understand the maths all around us!

Inquiry - Mont de Lancey Excursion

3RL and 3SB students recently travelled back in time with a fascinating excursion to Mont De Lancey! As we explored the historic homestead, old schoolroom, and blacksmith’s workshop, we learned about the rules, roles, and expectations that shaped life in the olden days. Through hands-on activities and storytelling, we discovered how ideas about fairness, ethics, and responsibility have changed over time—and what still matters today. It was a fun and thoughtful way to connect the past with the present!

3CR and 3MW will be attending this excursion on Friday.

Production

Level Three has been buzzing with energy as we rehearse for our upcoming production, What a Knight: Camelot’s Craziest Conquest! From catchy songs to lively dance numbers, students have been practicing with enthusiasm and teamwork. Whether they’re knights, jesters or nobles, everyone is learning to shine on stage. With each rehearsal, our confidence grows—and we can’t wait to bring the magic, mischief and music of Camelot to life!
