The Patch Program

Term 3, Week 10

This term we have been making plans for bee hotels. We are still in need of building supplies and tools, so if you have any laying around at home, we would love them!

We have been talking about heritage seeds and how to save them, and have done that a couple of different ways in The Patch. We collected silverbeet and dill seeds that we’ve had drying in paper bags from summer, and warrigal greens seeds that we harvested straight from the plants.

In the kitchen, we have made Anzac Biscuits with all year levels. The students followed the recipe beautifully and they were delicious. Foundations students will be making them this week!

The Grade 5s and 6s have also made vegetarian dumplings with great success. We cooked them in the pan first, then steamed them so they had delicious crunchy bottoms! Yum.

Don’t forget, if you want to cook any of our recipes go to
