Throughout Term Two and Term Three, Gandhi House has been engaged with "The Great Gandhi Game Show" across three of our designated House events.
This competition saw our PCGs battling it out in a series of trivia competitions that wrapped up on Wednesday. A big shoutout to PCG G3 for coming through with the overall win!
Here's the kicker: they never actually won first place in any of the individual game shows. Instead, they snagged second place every single time. Talk about consistency being key! Well done, G3.
Coming up next is the Battle of the Bands, where we will be performing an original song called "Secrets," penned by our Year 11 student Anisha Thambiran. We have 11 band members from across our year groups that are participating in our band this year. Mark your calendars for 11 September; you will not want to miss this. We are counting on that Gandhi House spirit to fill the room!

This week many of our PCGs left the confines of the classroom and went out to spend time with each other during Extended PCG.
This time is important for students in creating lasting bonds and memories between the students and the staff. As a PCG tutor myself, I enjoy the opportunity to spend time and speak with the students in a different setting.
Lincoln House is continuing to prepare for events as we move into the last few weeks of term. Our Battle of the Bands team is practicing hard in order to win the event, which will be held on September 11. The band has created their own original song and I can’t wait to see them play on the day. Tickets are on sale now, so make sure you get yours as soon as possible!
Finally, I would like to once again ask that all House tokens at home please be brought in. I am sure there are many sitting at the bottom of school bags, in pockets or even the washing machine. Currently, the tokens in our jar are looking a tad lonely and would like more friends.

What a fantastic evening it was last night at the inaugural Mandela Parent Sundowner Event. Parents and guardians are a vital part of our extended family. We were thrilled to share with you just what makes Mandela House truly exceptional. See photos of the event further into this newsletter.
A huge congratulations to John Skinner, Lawson Forester, Taylor Rhodes and Amelie McKeon for being nominated the Mandela GOAT (Greatest of All Term), for Term Two by their Mandela peers. Very worthy recipients.
This Wednesday, Mandela House, with the exception of the Year 10s and 11s who had a guest speaker, went to Wellington Square as part of our Extended PCG for a game of House footy, icy poles, basketball, relaxation and lunch. It was a perfect day to get outside and enjoy the City that is at our doorstep while allowing students of the House a chance to get to know each other better.
Coming up next, we have the Battle of the Bands in Week Eight, which our students are preparing a brand-new song from scratch. Then in Week Nine we have our annual Mandela Charity Day. More details about the Mandela Charity Day will be spoken about in PCGs and in SEQTA in the next couple of weeks.
