New way to foster unity and competition

Introducing House Week . . .

Exciting times are ahead as we unveil a fresh initiative aimed at igniting the flames of house spirit and camaraderie – introducing House Week! In our continuous pursuit of excellence and inclusivity, we are excited to announce a new chapter in our House competition framework.

Traditionally, House points were earned through athletics, swimming, and performing arts, limiting opportunities for certain students to contribute to their House's success. We believe that every student's unique talents deserve the chance to shine. That is why House Week has been designed to broaden the horizons of competition and embrace the diverse skills that our students possess.

During Week Four of each term, House Week comes alive with a number of interhouse competitions spanning various interests and talents. From the strategic minds battling it out in the Chess Tournament to the adrenaline-pumping excitement of the Super Smash Bros. Tournament, there is something for everyone to engage with. Table Tennis, Volleyball, and even an enthralling Game Show (photographed above) are just a few of the other avenues where students can showcase their prowess.

This year's line-up has been exceptional, encompassing activities like the Newspaper Fashion Show, where creativity knows no bounds, and Jenga and Arcade Games, which foster friendly rivalry. By offering this diverse range of competitions, House Week aims to kindle a sense of belonging and involvement for all students, ensuring that every voice adds to the symphony of their House's journey towards the coveted House Cup.

As we dive into this new chapter, let's remember that House Week is not just about winning points; it is about forging connections, discovering hidden talents, and standing together as a united house community. We look forward to witnessing the enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and energy that each of you brings to House Week, making it an unforgettable event for years to come.

May the spirit of healthy competition guide us, and may House Week be a celebration of the remarkable diversity within our school.

Anticipation builds as we eagerly await the speeches these candidates will deliver during the Monday Assembly of Week Eight. They will also attend interviews with Mrs Campbell and Mr Hardman to discuss their vision for the role.

As Week Eight unfolds, students and staff will exercise their voting rights to designate the two individuals who will assume the roles of School Captains for the year 2024. After their selection, the appointment process for other essential positions within the Student Guild and Prefect body will ensue.

A formal handover of leadership and transition of responsibilities will take place in Term Four, Week Two.
